Jam, Arrangement and navigation

Understand transport, tempo, workspace tabs and the difference between source patterns and blocks.

Choose a task within one project

Jam is for live playing and the three instruments' source patterns. Arrangement places independent copies of parts on a timeline. Both workspaces belong to one project file.

The AirBeat, AirBass and AirChord tabs open that instrument in Jam. Arrangement opens the composition; Editor opens its selected block. Changing workspace mode stops audio. Changing instruments within Jam keeps playback and settings.

Folding a panel or choosing Collapse all panels only hides controls. It does not mute an instrument or delete its music. Small screens place some settings under View & sound.

A shared transport for playing together

AirBeat leads Jam tempo. The instruments' Play/Pause/Stop buttons control the shared Jam transport. Enable the bass or chord sequencer to hear its pattern; AirChord pads can also be played manually.

In Arrangement the composition owns transport and BPM. It plays blocks, not Jam source steps. Start bar chooses the launch position; Loop repeats the selected bars.

AirLooper has its own Play and sync controls. A phrase stored in a scene does not start when the scene is selected. See AirLooper for joining it to a shared bar.

Shared settings and independent copies

ActionResult
Edit Jam stepsChanges the source pattern; previously captured blocks are retained.
Capture into a blockReplaces the selected block's content with a source copy.
Edit a blockChanges that block; Jam and other blocks remain intact.
Master and mix processingAffect the shared Jam and Arrangement output.
Select a scenePrepares the three Jam instruments. Shared BPM/Master, sound libraries and blocks stay independent.

Use the relevant edit history

AirBeat, AirBass, AirChord, AirLooper, Arrangement, scenes and mix expression have separate Undo/Redo histories. The Undo label describes its last edit. AirBeat Undo cannot undo a block movement.

Histories support the current session. Opening a project clears them; a file saves the result, not the whole Undo sequence. Keep a separate project copy before a major experiment.
