Your first musical sketch

A short route to hearing music, changing a beat and saving your first idea.

Hear a result first

  1. Open the studio and press Play in the top toolbar to hear the current Arrangement. If it is silent, check Master, your device volume and the sound help.
  2. Pause lets you continue from the same position. Stop returns to the start. Stop all stops every instrument.
  3. You can also open Demo, preview an excerpt and choose a composition to explore. Preview does not replace your project; opening a demo asks for confirmation.

Make the beat your own

  1. Choose Jam, then AirBeat. Switching Jam / Arrangement stops playback. Tabs within Jam only change which instrument is visible.
  2. Press Play. Click a Kick or Hi-hat step to add or remove a hit. Sixteen steps make one bar of 4/4; the highlighted step shows the moving position.
  3. Compare your edit. AirBeat Undo restores the previous pattern; Redo reapplies it. Add BassSequencer and ChordSequencer, or play AirChord pads over the rhythm.

Keep the idea for later

  1. Give the session a useful Project name.
  2. Press Save and check your browser downloads. The .airbeat.json file retains the project's parts, scenes and settings.
  3. To continue, press Open and choose that file. Check the name in the confirmation: it will replace the current session. Save your current work first if you need it.

A browser draft is convenient; a downloaded project is your portable backup. WAV and MIDI are outputs, not complete studio backups.

The guide does not start audio or change projects. If your studio is already open in another tab, return to that tab to continue your session.
