Keyboard and small-screen use
Grid navigation, edit history, pads, fields and alternatives to dragging.
Basic controls
Tab and Shift+Tab move focus. Enter or Space activates the focused button. Name fields retain your text; musical letter shortcuts do not play while typing. In a select menu, use arrows, Enter and Escape.
Escape first closes an active menu, confirmation or draft. Use Stop all in the shared toolbar for immediate global silence. Follow the current area's hint: a shortcut may belong to an editor rather than transport.
| Area | Keys |
|---|---|
| AirBeat / ChordSequencer grids | Arrows move; Home/End reach row edges; Page Up/Down move four steps; Ctrl/Cmd+Home/End reach grid corners. Tab leaves the grid. |
| Selected step | Space/Enter toggles it. Arrows alone do not edit the pattern. |
| AirBass | Arrows select steps; Home/End reach edges; Page Up/Down move four steps. Selected-step settings are below. |
| Instrument / Arrangement history | Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes; Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z redoes within that area. Text fields keep text editing. |
AirChord keyboard playing
Physical A S D F G H J keys trigger pads 1–7. They do not act as musical commands in text inputs, fields, Arrangement or AirBass. Releasing a key ends ordinary holding; Drone retains its latch.
When AirChord is engaged and visible, arrows change joystick direction. In grids and the shared toolbar, arrows retain navigation. Leaving the tab releases held notes.
Blocks and small screens
In Arrangement, Ctrl/Cmd+A selects blocks, Ctrl/Cmd+C copies the selected block and Ctrl/Cmd+V pastes from the internal buffer. Selected text and fields retain normal behaviour. Delete removes selected blocks when focus is in the timeline area.
Use start/length fields for precise block movement, and pitch/start/length fields for notes. Narrow screens may split grids into groups of eight steps. Scroll the timeline inside its region and the page outside performance pads. Folding panels does not mute them.
In the guide, Ctrl/Cmd+F searches the current page. Contents and Next links connect topics; the language switch retains the selected chapter.
Continue with your task
The guide does not start audio or change projects. If your studio is already open in another tab, return to that tab to continue your session.
