AirBeat: rhythms and banks

Build one bar

1. Open Jam → AirBeat. Choose a Pattern or press Clear to empty the active one; Undo brings it back.
2. Click cells to add or remove hits. For a straight beat, try Kick on 1/5/9/13, Snare on 5/13 and Hi-hat on odd-numbered steps.
3. Press Play and adjust BPM and Swing. Swing shifts some steps for an uneven feel; 0% keeps a straight grid.

Give individual hits a character

Kick, Snare, Hi-hat, Clap, Perc and Cymbal are the six tracks. Sound selects a synthesized variant; the track-name button previews its sound.

Shift-click a step, or use Accent mode, to change its accent. In Mixer & dynamics, choose a track and step for precise Velocity, Probability and Roll. Velocity controls strength, Probability the chance of a hit, and Roll repeats hits inside a step. An inactive cell remains a rest.

The mixer sets each track's level and pan. Mute silences a track; Solo keeps the chosen tracks. Row copy, paste, one-step shifts and clear affect the selected row. Check the copied-source message; Undo belongs to AirBeat.

Four banks and a chain

Banks A–D retain separate patterns, Velocity, Probability, Roll and Swing. Edits affect the active bank. To start a variation from the same beat, copy it to another bank in Banks & Kits.

During Jam, choosing another bank queues it for the next bar. The pending bank is visible and can be cancelled. When stopped, the choice applies immediately. Manual bank selection disables the automatic chain.

Chain repeats your bank order. Repeat a letter to keep that bank for multiple bars. This changes the AirBeat rhythm, not scenes of all instruments. BPM remains shared.

Keep a sound and capture a beat

A drum kit stores sound choices and the mixer. Name and save it, then select and load it when needed. A kit is not a separate project or pattern bank; user kits are included in the project file.

For a composition, open Arrangement, select a drum block and press Capture AirBeat. It copies the active pattern and its dynamics. A bank chain does not automatically become a song.

Use a pattern link to transfer just this rhythm. Use a project file for the whole work, including other banks and instruments.
