WAV, MIDI and live audio recording

Choose a file format, range and source, and learn what each export retains.

Choose your output

FormatPurpose and contents
Project .airbeat.jsonContinue with instruments, scenes and settings.
WAVArrangement sound, synthesis, effects and Master. Stereo, 44.1 kHz, 16-bit PCM.
MIDIArrangement notes, timing and parts for further editing, without original timbres or audio effects.
Live mix RecordAudible live playing, including pads and changes during performance. Format depends on the browser.

Prepare WAV or MIDI

  1. In Export & Record, expand your format. The source is the separate Arrangement composition even when Jam is open. Capture a required Jam part into a block first.
  2. Choose Whole song, Loop or Custom bars. A custom file range does not change the studio Loop. Check BPM, bars, Mute/Solo and duration.
  3. Choose Render WAV or Prepare MIDI, then use the download link. The result summary identifies project name, source and range.

Limits and prepared results

WAV allows up to 128 seconds of music plus a two-second effects tail. Use a shorter range for longer compositions. MIDI does not preserve synthesizer sound; drums use approximate General MIDI mappings.

Rendering uses a project snapshot. Later edits do not change an existing file; the interface marks an older result. The previous download remains available until a new one succeeds, including on error. Discard result abandons the new rendering result rather than promising to stop computation instantly.

Record live playing

  1. Start live mix Record in the same section, then press Play or use pads. No microphone is used.
  2. Choose Finish recording and download the result. The limit is five minutes. Leaving the tab finishes recording, so stay in the studio during a performance.
  3. For an editable AirChord phrase, use AirLooper Record instead. It stores musical events rather than an audio file of the master output.

The guide does not start audio or change projects. If your studio is already open in another tab, return to that tab to continue your session.
